Event Details
The United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, in collaboration with the Piedmont Triad Partnership launches an educational workshop series for artists and creative workers. This program is open to all creatives in the 12-county Piedmont Triad region and begins a regional strategy to support our creative industries. 

 

The program will cover a variety of topics, from developing a mission/vision statement to writing a business plan and pricing product. Instructors will come from across the Triad. The objective is to provide valuable training to artists and creative workers in order to grow our regional economy through the creation of new small businesses. This program, in connection with a regional strategy, will achieve our vision to grow our creative economy in the Piedmont Triad.

 

TRAINING

Three Saturday workshops will be held from 9 am to 5:30 pm at the Greensboro Cultural Center in downtown Greensboro. Registration is for all three workshops; certificates will be presented to those completing the entire three workshop series. A closing reception will be held on Saturday, June 6, in conclusion of the workshop series.

 INSTRUCTORS

Instructors will provide insights and information on their specific area of focus, but will also have a unique understanding of the challenges that artists and creatives face. Many instructors regularly work with artists or are creatives who have become successful entrepreneurs.

 

COSTS

Tuition for three-day workshop series is $150 and includes course book, regional business resource guide, lunch and refreshments, parking and closing reception. Participants are encouraged to attend all 13 modules as the program builds from one module to the next. Participants may not sign up for individual workshops at a reduced cost. Additional financial support has been provided by the Piedmont Triad Partnership through a US DOL WIRED Grant and Duke Energy.
